Edison Norge started drilling Well 2/11-11 in PL616 on 21th June 2015

Edison Norge is pleased to announce the spud  of its first well as Operator in the Norwegian Continental Shelf on the Haribo prospect.

Exploration Drilling started today - the 21st of June 2015 at 8.30am - in the production license PL616 situated in the South of the Norwegian North Sea at 8 km south west of the Valhall Field.

Well 2/11-11 is drilled by the semi-submersible Transocean Searcher rig to a vertical depth of 3350 meters below the sea bed in the Hidra formation for an expected period of 45 days in the dry hole case. The predicted reservoir is chalk of Upper Cretaceous age similar to the Valhall reservoir.

Partners in PL616 are Edison Norge AS (operator) with 25 per cent, Noreco 20 per cent, Concedo 20 per cent, Lime Petroleum Norway 5 per cent, North Energy 15 per cent and Skagen44 15 per cent.
