The Nova (formerly known as Skarfjell) license partners (PL 418) decided in the MC on 31. January to selected the Gjøa field as tie-in host for the Nova discovery. The alternative solution was re-use of the Varg FPSO owned and operated by Teekay. Nova has now passed the DG2/ BOV decision and will start preparing the PDO to be submitted to the authorities within 16.February 2018. 

The Nova (formerly known as Skarfjell) discovery is an oil and gas discovery, total recoverable resources are estimated to about 100 mill. boe.  The production wells will be drilled from a subsea template connected to the Gjøa floater were oil and gas will be treated and exported onshore via pipelines. Injection water for pressure support will be supplied from Gjøa.

Edison holds 15% in PL 418, together with Wintershall 35% and operator, Bayern Gas 20%, Capricorn 20% and DEA 10%.
